Do You Trust Your Instincts?

Do you trust your instincts?

I used to think big decisions needed spreadsheets, business plans and endless research. Those things matter. But while building The Daily Brew Cafe, I’ve learned that some of the most important decisions come from somewhere deeper.

They come from your gut.

The Leap We’re Taking

The café dream wasn’t part of a grand five-year plan. It started with a feeling, a quiet pull that wouldn’t let go. It’s the kind of feeling that wakes you at 3 a.m. with ideas about Japanese gardens, the smell of fresh coffee and people finding peace in a space you created.

Logic said, “Wait. Research more. Play it safe.”

My instincts said, “This is it. This is what you’re meant to build.”

So here we are, trusting something we can’t fully explain, building something that exists first in our hearts and then, slowly, in the world.

What Trusting Your Gut Really Means

Trusting your instincts doesn’t mean being reckless or ignoring reality. It’s about noticing patterns, listening to that quiet voice inside you and honoring what feels right, even when you can’t prove it on paper.

Many experienced entrepreneurs talk about this. They learn to read the signs: when something clicks, when an idea feels alive, when a decision makes sense even though the data isn’t perfect yet.

Why We’re Following Our Hearts

Every choice we make for The Daily Brew Cafe comes back to one question: does this feel right?

The Japanese garden design? It feels right.
The focus on nature and calm? It feels right.
Building a community online first? It feels right.

We’re not ignoring the practical side. Budgets, permits, suppliers and all the rest matter. But underneath every decision is a steady trust that we’re on the right path, even when it’s uncertain.

The Risk of Not Trusting Yourself

Here’s what I’ve realized: the bigger risk is often ignoring your instincts, not following them.

How many people spend years in careers they dislike because it seemed “safe”? How many dreams fade because the spreadsheet never said “go”?

Following your heart takes courage. It means accepting uncertainty, taking risks and trusting that your intuition sees something your logical mind doesn’t.

It’s scary, yes. But it’s also how you build something that truly matters.

Building Confidence One Step at a Time

Trusting your instincts gets easier with practice. You start small, make little decisions based on gut feelings and see how they turn out. Over time, you gain the confidence to make bigger leaps.

That’s what we’re doing with The Daily Brew Cafe. Each blog post, design idea and conversation with someone who believes in this vision adds to our confidence that we’re on the right track.

We’re learning to trust that feeling in your chest when something just clicks. That quiet knowing that says, “Yes, this is it.”

This Is Our Leap

So do I trust my instincts? Completely.

Not blindly, and not recklessly. But deeply, with the awareness that this café is more than a business. It’s a calling, and it’s what we want to create, even without all the answers yet.

Maybe that’s what trusting your instincts really means: having the courage to start before you feel ready, to believe in something before it’s proven, and to follow your heart when the path isn’t clear.

Some things, the ones that matter most, can’t be planned. They can only be felt.
