What’s Good About Having a Pet? We Call Them Guests Instead

What is good about having a pet?

Why We Welcome Birds as Our First Guests

Starting a café is about more than serving coffee. It’s about building a place where people and nature feel welcome, even before the doors open. For now, The Daily Brew Cafe is a dream and a digital gathering place, where each post, photo and conversation brings us a little closer to what we want to build.

Nature as a Guide for Hospitality

As we sketch ideas and picture a blend of Japanese garden calm and coffee culture, birds keep showing up in our plans. In every concept picture you’ll find cherry blossoms, calm water and birds sitting naturally, as if they belong there.

The birds stand for what we want the café to be: a space full of life, movement and real connection. Keeping them in our vision reminds us to design for openness, beauty and renewal.

Why Birds Are the Ideal “Guests”

  • They inspire our community vision:
When people picture themselves sitting here, sipping coffee and hearing birdsong, the idea feels real, even though we’re not brewing espresso yet. Birds remind us of nature and help shape the mood before any wall goes up or any bench is installed.
  • They embody authentic welcome:
Birds come and go freely, and we hope future guests will feel the same: free to visit, to linger and to come back. The hospitality we want is modeled on おもてなし (omotenashi), offered to every visitor, whether feathered, four-legged or human.
  • They connect our digital and physical worlds:
Sharing garden pictures online lets our community see a piece of the journey now, while we plan for the day we can meet in person.

Building Something Real, Step by Step

We want to be honest with readers: the walls aren’t built yet, but the foundation of trust, authenticity and imagination is solid. Our blog and social posts invite you to help shape The Daily Brew Cafe, as collaborators rather than just customers.

Birds, unlike pets kept at home, remind us to stay open and welcome the unexpected. Their sounds and energy are the kind of mornings we want to create for everyone.

Join Our Journey

Dreams start with details. As we share pictures, stories and lessons from nature, we’re asking you to help us imagine something more welcoming than an ordinary café. Maybe one day our first morning coffee will be accompanied by real birdsong. For now, your presence here is what makes the vision feel real.
