Here’s a completely useless fact about me: every single day, I spend about three hours on a café that doesn’t exist yet.
One hour in the morning. Two hours in the evening. Every day.
Nobody asked. I’m telling you anyway. That’s the whole point of a useless fact.
The maths nobody asked for
Three hours a day adds up to about 21 hours a week. Over a year, that’s roughly 1,095 hours spent on a little café project that, for now, lives mostly in my head and on this blog.
It’s a lot of hours. It’s also exactly the kind of number that makes a fact delightfully useless: impressive to say out loud, and not very helpful to anyone else.
Where the hours actually go
Most of it is reading. Not just about coffee, but anything that helps me grow and think a little more clearly about what this café could become.
The rest is experience and experiment. Trying things out, seeing what works, and quietly figuring out how to be a bit better than I was yesterday.
None of it looks dramatic from the outside. There’s no ribbon to cut and no grand opening yet. Just a small, steady habit that keeps the dream moving.
Useless, but not pointless
Here’s the thing about my useless fact. It might not mean much to you, but those three hours are how this whole blog started, and they’re why it’s still going. One hour, then two more, then the same again tomorrow.
If you’re curious where all that time has led so far, the whole journey lives on From Dream to Bean, milestone by milestone.
So that’s mine. A café that doesn’t exist yet, and a person who won’t stop showing up for it.
