A Sunday morning deserves a coffee that’s both refreshing and comforting. This citrus spice cold brew pairs cold brew with fresh orange and the warmth of cinnamon and cardamom.
It tastes different from your usual cup. The citrus oils and spices wake up your senses, which makes it a good match for a relaxed weekend.
This one is about spice, zest, and slowing down for a bit.
Crafting Your Perfect Cup
The recipe is simple, but it feels a little special. Muddle fresh orange slices with cinnamon and cardamom to release their oils and aromas into the cold brew. A little honey adds sweetness, and a splash of sparkling water adds fizz.
Muddling, mixing and tasting slow you down a little, which suits a Sunday.

- 200 ml cold brew coffee
- 2 slices fresh orange, peel on
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 green cardamom pods, gently cracked
- 1/2 tsp honey
- Sparkling water (optional)
- Ice
Method
- Muddle the orange slices with the cinnamon and cardamom in a glass.
- Add the honey and cold brew, then swirl to mix.
- Fill with ice and top with sparkling water for a fizzy finish, if you like.
A Versatile Brew
Serve it cold over ice on a warm day, or enjoy it as a change from hot coffee any time of year. The sparkling water is optional, but the fizz balances the bold flavors.
It’s easy to adapt. Try grapefruit or lemon instead of orange, or star anise or cloves in place of the spices, and make your own version.
